October 06
Freedom Court - The first of two Freedom Courts to be held
this year took place on Monday 2nd of October at the Guildhall.

Excursion up the scaffolding at the East End of York Minster
- The Gild was privileged to be allowed a guided tour of the
work being undertaken on the East End of the Minster (Saturday,
30th Sept 2006).
July 06
York Mystery plays - The Gild of Freemen took part in the
recent production by The York Guilds which took place on two
consecutive Sundays in July 2006 (the 9th and the 16th).
 
April 06
Joint Guilds annual service at All Saints church, Pavement,
York - The civic party and representives of the Guilds enjoyed
a service together and then moved on to Bedern hall for refreshements.
March 06
The Pageant of the Donkey at York Minster.
This event was a
great success and was held in the presence of Her Royal Highness
The Princess Royal, four donkeys and 820 children, together
with nearly a thousand other guests.
It was delightful
to see how many of our fellow Freemen were able to join
us. An official album of photographs from the event will be
available to view at our monthly coffee mornings at Bedern
Hall.

members in the State Room of the Mansion House for the first
Court meeting of the new year.

Joint Guilds carol service at All Saints church, Pavement,
York - The civic party and representives of the Guilds enjoyed
a service of nine lessons with carols followed by mince pies
and mulled wine.
November 05
Foss Flood Barrier visit - Very interesting and informative
guided tour of the barrier and it's working by Colin Atkinson
theYork Flood Manager.

The Freedom Court - where two
of the Master's sons were admitted into the freedom.
Inter-guild quiz night - Members of 'The Pussycats' quiz
team on their way to third place in the contest.

Model Boat Regatta in Rowntrees Park - A good time was had
by all the budding captains!
